The Senate Speech That May Have Forced Justin Trudeau to Revoke the Emergencies Act

Canadians need to hear the Senator's speech:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIZO3OhqCUY

    Senator Donald Plett:
    Speech in the Senate,
23 February 2022, regarding the invoking of the Emergencies Act by Justin Trudeau.

Link and Commentary, below, from Julius Ruechel

Julius Ruechel, 23 Feb., 2022: Canada cancelled the Emergencies Act today. Regardless of what the government and media may claim, the most likely reason is that the Senate would have voted against it following a truly remarkable speech given by Senator Donald Plett. It is a remarkable speech that sets the record straight about what happened on the ground in Ottawa over these past weeks, the dangerous legal precedents that were being set, the historical context of what Justin Trudeau tried to impose, and the devastating consequences to our democracy, our legal system, and our financial system.

I encourage you to listen to Senator Plett’s extraordinary speech - it is worth every minute. And please send it to every single person you know, especially those who believed the government’s actions to be lawful. This speech goes a very long way towards helping Canadians understand the terrifying magnitude of what our leaders did and the monumental challenges ahead to repair the damage that has been done to our country over these past few weeks.

    14 FEBRUARY 2022: A CRITICAL DAY
    From info@FreeToFly.ca
    Website: www.freetofly.ca

This is a critical day. Between the Conservatives' motion to end mandates and late-night meetings by Mr. Trudeau in regards to the Emergencies Act (previously called the War Measures Act), we are in a tenuous place.
Please call and/or email your elected representatives immediately, at all levels of government to voice your support for peaceful protest (which these past few weeks have been), freedom, ending mandates, and the rule of law. Action4Canada has an excellent resource for finding contact information, found in the upper right of their website under 'contacts'. -

A Brave New World Without Rights: Ending Mandates Does Not Strip Government of the Ability to Do This Again

    Julius Ruechel, February 9, 2022:
The ongoing Truckers for Freedom convoy in Ottawa has triggered a shockwave that is reaching all around the world. Even as our authoritarian federal regime continues to double down on measures and threatens to use brute force tactics against peaceful protesters, many provinces are nervously beginning to lay out a timeline for ending mandates.

But there is something important missing from the conversation surrounding the end of mandates. If the mandates are simply dropped today without calling out the underlying legal and ethical fallacy that was used to justify them, government overreach will have become normalized. We will be left without the legal protections to stop them from doing this to us again after the truckers go home. All it will take to put us back in a cage is for the government to point at the next wave, the next virus variant, or the next non-Covid emergency. We will have normalized that our rights, our freedoms, our bodily autonomy, and even access to our lives are conditional privileges, subject to opinion polls and technocratic impulses, and that they can be withdrawn again at any time, “for our safety.” [...]  Continue reading ?

According to a Feb. 10th article in the National Post, the Opposition in Parliament has proposed a motion to abolish mandates, scheduled to be voted on at 3pm (EST) on Monday, Feb. 14.

    Comment from: Hanle hanle@alternatives.com
This is extremely important  -  and is our ability to make our VOICE count.  That is "democracy"!  If you want to preserve it, please participate! We urgently need to write an email to our MP (phone as well!), so that they vote for the motion.  You can find your MP info here by postal code: https://www.ourcommons.ca/members/en (Another link below if this one not working)
    Sample letter to MP
    <name>,
I am a resident of <town, province>. It has come to my attention that a motion has been put forward in the House of Commons to end COVID-19 mandates and restrictions, which will be voted on by Members of Parliament. As your constituent, I am asking that you vote for ending all mandates and vaccination passports immediately. It is time to follow medical science instead of political science and do the right thing for the people.
    Sincerely,
    Name, Address

Hanle: Ask others to write a separate letter. We are pressed for time. Otherwise they are planning to “send” everyone home brutally. The page with list of MPs has been taken down for the last few hours. I found another link that is working: https://openparliament.ca/politicians/
Send an email right away and phone too. Monday is too late!

Freedom is on the rise in Canada thanks to the incredible efforts by our brave truckers! What started off as a humble protest against unconstitutional mandates has exploded into a global phenomenon, and I am proud to have supported our truckers every step of the way.

I have another busy weekend ahead of me, working to support our brave truckers. I will kick off the weekend in Montreal where I will be seeing off a convoy of truckers heading to join the protest in Ottawa. We will be gathering in Jarry Park at 10am where I will make an address. I will then be heading to Ottawa to join the main protest. I will be speaking on the main stage out front of Parliament Hill shortly after 3pm.

Finally, on Sunday the PPC in cooperation with Randy Hillier and NoMoreLockdowns Canada will be hosting a pancake breakfast where we will be giving out free pancakes, coffee, and hot chocolate to truckers and supporters of the Freedom Convoy still in Ottawa!

Dr. Christian's Message to our Magnificent Truckers, to Canada, to Humanity:

VIDEO & TEXT Feb. 10, 2022 [LINK BELOW]
    MuseinArms / Rumble

My name is Francis Christian. I am a physician and a surgeon and I stand with our magnificent Truckers for Freedom.

Today is the 10th of February 2022. I would like to tell my long-suffering fellow Canadians and the world that MEDICAL SCIENCE IS ON THE SIDE OF THE TRUCKERS.

Science is on the side of the Truckers to end all mandates immediately and bring an immediate end to the oppression of our people.

This includes all declarations of emergency federal and provincial - there is no medical science that supports any federal or provincial government usurping the peoples’ power by declaring fake emergencies. This includes the abuse of our children with masks and m-RNA injections they don’t need and which are not safe and not effective. The medical science does not support masks for kids or covid vaccines for kids.

Medical science has proved lockdowns, community masking, social distancing and all the other mandates are useless and have caused enormous harm to every section of society except government bureaucrats working from home or those getting regular salaries – the laptop class. The power belongs to the people - not to our politicians, not to our bureaucrats, not to our corrupt mainstream press ... and not to our crime minister.

As a physician and a surgeon of more than 20 years experience, I can tell you that the m-RNA injection otherwise called the covid vaccine is neither safe nor effective. It cannot stop infection. It cannot stop transmission. We have known all this for months. Stop all mandates now.

To my Trucker brothers and sisters - the medical science is behind you. Scientists and physicians from across the world stand in solidarity with you - and we support you, we salute you, we are completely on your side. [...]

Alberta and Saskatchewan Become First Provinces to End Vaccine Passports
Alberta and Saskatchewan are the first Canadian provinces to end vaccine passport programs as well as other major COVID-19 mandates. Masking is being phased out. Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe said that it was now time to treat COVID as endemic as 80% of the population had received two COVID vaccine jabs, and about half got a booster — similar to data for the country as a whole. He denied that the trucker protest had any influence, despite a growing 54% majority of Canadians who now support an end to COVID mandates. The Freedom Convoy protesters are demanding an end to all mandates to terminate their demonstrations. – G. Edward Griffin, NeedToKnow.news

Story by Elisa Ammaturo, News.yahoo.com, February 9, 2022:

    https://news.yahoo.com/alberta-saskatchewan-become-first-provinces-192539714.html

Alberta and Saskatchewan are the first Canadian provinces to end vaccine passport programs as well as other major COVID-19 mandates.  Tuesday at midnight, Alberta’s vaccine passport system will came to an end.  Premier Jason Kenney announced this will be the first public health restriction lifted in a phased approach. Kenney plans for Alberta’s mask mandate to be lifted next Monday for children. All indoor masking regulations are set to be eliminated for March 1. Capacity limits will be stopped for all events under 500 people. He credited the end of the restriction exemption program to strong vaccination rates as well as drops in the Omicron variant spread and hospital rates stating. “Our approach to COVID must change as the disease changes,” Kenney said.  Alberta currently has 1,623 COVID-19 hospitalizations and 129 in intensive care units. Premier Kenney denies that his decision was influenced by the recent ‘freedom convoy’ protests.

Beginning Feb. 14, Saskatchewan is set to end negative test or proof-of-vaccination requirements. Premier Scott Moe announced he will also be ending self-isolation for testing positive and indoor mask requirements by the end of the month. He said his decision was influenced by a “blend” of science and people across the province.

Quebec and Prince Edward Island are also taking a phased approach to COVID-19 restrictions. Quebec plans to end most regulations—with the exception of mask rules and the vaccination passport—by March 14. Prince Edward Island is aiming for the beginning of April to lift gathering limits and mandatory masking requirements.  “This not a declaration that COVID is over, or that COVID will disappear and that we are standing here and saying, ‘Mission accomplished,’” said P.E.I. Premier Dennis King during a conference Tuesday. “COVID is with us and it will be with us. I think we are at a point … when the epidemiology and the trends across the country, the region, and the province kind of allows us to look a little more firmly at our long-awaited return to a life without COVID restrictions.”

Karen Selick: Ottawa’s panicked mayor needs to place the blame squarely where it belongs—on the federal government

By Karen Selick, February 9, 2022
[QUOTE & LINK] Why has Jim Watson, the mayor of Ottawa, behaved so irrationally regarding the Truckers’ Freedom Convoy?
On February 6, he declared the city to be in a state of emergency. What’s the emergency? Ottawa, like all cities, always has an ongoing low level of background crime. No spike in crime has resulted from the convoy. Nobody has been murdered. Nobody’s property has been stolen. On the contrary, the convoy has actually been feeding needy people.
Nobody has even been making threats—except for Ottawa’s police chief, who has made vague threats that anyone bringing fuel, food or other assistance to the truckers will be charged. Charged with what? Since when has giving someone assistance been a crime?
The police began carrying out these threats that same evening, seizing fuel that anonymous donors had delivered to the truckers. By what right? The fuel doesn’t belong to the police, or to the city of Ottawa. Has it been taken as evidence? Evidence of what? Canadians’ generosity?
The only emergency that seems to have befallen Ottawa is an outbreak of lawlessness among the very people whose task is to keep law and order. The mayor and the police chief both seem to be completely oblivious to the Canadian Bill of Rights. The Bill recognizes the rights to life, liberty, security of the person, the enjoyment of private property, freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, and more. It specifically states that all other statutes, including the Criminal Code under which the police chief is presumably planning to lay his vague charges, must be “construed and applied” so as not to infringe on these rights. How are Canadians to follow the science, when the likes of Google and Meta remove the science from their platforms? When bureaucratic assertions are allowed but not scientific data? When those who advocate for science are proclaimed to have "unacceptable views"? When interest-conflicted, social media giants are given the green light to "fact check" [the world says, sarcastically] even the likes of the British Medical Journal?

And what should we expect to befall those Canadians who might try to lean on one another from a fear-ridden distance of two metres?

    Dialogue Vol.35-No.1, Autumn 2021
Heartened by Dolly Dennis’ “Autumn Curtain” painting and Ed Curtin’s “Behind The Curtain” column (p.4), another 84-page issue, Vol. 35, No. 1, delves ever more deeply… to find answers and insights…

Many perspectives shed light on the disconcerting events that continue to unfold around us. Several articles make it clear that the nightmare we are living has been “in planning” for many decades and even over generations… During the last 21 months, many of us have become aware of the diabolical details of a dystopian future coveted by the elite power group. But for many of us, this knowledge is too painful to bear – so we are tempted to turn away from the truth – and thus become easy prey for the merchants of spin and subterfuge. What do we do when faced with
unspeakable crimes that have been going on, with or without our knowledge?

    Remembering Maurice & Penny
    December 2019 and July 2020

Maurice King, co-founder and publisher of Dialogue, passed on at the age of 92?, on the morning of 2 December 2019. His beloved Penny joined him on July 6th, 2020; she was 17.

PHOTO: Maurice and Penny at their home in Nanaimo, B.C.

Vol. 33, No.2, Winter 2019-20, features a tribute to Maurice.
Read or download the digital Winter edition here

Maurice leaves many legacies from his life lived to the full, and he is greatly missed by all who knew him.  Maurice enjoyed reminiscing about the adventures of his youth and with his family and in his multiple careers – some of which you will hear about in the pages that follow. Maurice’s favourite poem, which came to him at a very young age, was:
“Words that are spoken are easily said,
Words that are written are easily read,
But words engraved upon your heart
                           Never leave you, never part.”

And Maurice had much love and many personal connections engraved upon his heart – which many people have recalled in their memories of him, in the Winter issue, Vol. 33-3, dedicated to his memory.

It was Maurice’s indomitable will that has allowed all of his ventures, throughout his life, to succeed. Gabriel Communications, the not-for-profit that Maurice created, will continue as the publisher of Dialogue – and Maurice’s invocation to us all is to rely upon our own resolve (and whatever help we can give) to ensure that his legacy of “Dialogue” continues well into the future.

Thank You for continuing to be part of this venture of dedicated writers, artists and readers who are pursuing your dreams of a better world.

In these challenging times, we remember our need for courage, creativity, wisdom... and humour!

And, in this age of rampant information, 'infotainment'
    and blatant misinformation, we need
the knowledge, insight and intuition needed
to understand what is true and real.

We dedicate this website to the deepening of our
understanding of the true role and potential of humanity
to create the world we want to live in.

Through words, images and inspired actions, Dialogue seeks:
    to
reveal the rapacious systems and schemes working against
the interests of people and all living things on Earth; while
    also supporting and empowering,
in print, online and in our
    communities
, the 'imaginal cells' of our individual lives, to help us
create and nurture the better world that we know is possible
    .

This website is being developed for the readers and writers of Dialogue magazine – and for all who are seeking new perspectives and deeper
understanding about what is going on in our world… in order to put
their/our daily lives on a path that will help create a healthy and
harmonious future for our planet.  We envision – and are working to
create! – an interactive website that will be updated frequently with
posts from the readers/writers and new visitors to our web forum,
in the form of: letters, essays, cartoons, poetry, photos, art, alerts,
events, blogs, comments, recommended reading (books, links &
websites), videos ~ and any other creative format you dream up!

Are you getting the knowledge & insights you need in order to understand what is happening in the world today?

    • Do you sometimes wonder if the mainstream media is giving you the whole (or true) story?
    • Do you believe you have a right to hear what is really going on – in Ottawa, the provinces and globally – and how it affects (or will affect) all of us in our local communities?
    • Do you ever wonder if the so-called 'opinion polls' actually reflect what ordinary people are thinking?
    • Do you want to hear what Canadians and others are really thinking and saying?

If you answered ‘YES’ to any of the above, then you will want to read Dialogue Magazineon line and in print – the home of “Canada’s Independent Voices” since 1987!

Read, write, have your say… in Canada’s unique, national, non-profit, volunteer-created magazine!

    OUR GOAL FOR THE WEBSITE

Our goal is for this website to provide an interactive resource to support and enhance the communication and empowerment mission of Dialogue magazine.

There are many inspiring and informative sites on the Internet and our goal is to develop our web location as a home that brings together all the perspectives that 'truth-seeking troublemakers'* and creative activists might need or want to know – or want others to know - ideas that are important for moving us in the directions we want to go!

Through the original articles and referenced material and links on the site, we hope to encourage: critical thinking, deep understanding, ‘radical imagination,’ heart-centered consciousness, creative activism and effective local strategies ~ and a sense of humour to see us through difficult times!

HOW YOU CAN HELP BUILD THE WEBSITE...

If you have any ideas and suggestions for special features (and links to other sites) that you would like to see included here, please email me (Janet) at: dialogue@dialogue.ca

If you are a Dialogue columnist or writer, please email a biographical note and photo or favourite image, so we can build the page that will feature your contributions. Thanks!

While under development, this website is being hosted as - and the original site, www.dialogue.ca, now links to this site. Thank you for your patience – and even more, for your help – while we build and develop a new interactive website for Dialogue magazineWe hope you will join us in this exciting adventure by forwarding your suggestions, input or images.

    QUOTES

"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
    -
    George Orwell

    * * *

"The civilized have created the wretched, quite coldly and deliberately, and do not intend to change the status quo; are responsible for their slaughter and enslavement; rain down bombs on defenseless children whenever and wherever they decide that their "vital interests" are menaced, and think nothing of torturing a man to death: these people are not to be taken seriously when they speak of the 'sanctity' of human life, or the 'conscience' of the civilized world." - James Baldwin, Source: page 489 of COLLECTED ESSAYS (1998), from chapter one of "The Devil Finds Work" (orig. pub. 1976)

"Since world war two we've managed to create history's first truly global empire. This has been done by the corporatocracy, which are a few men and women who run our major corporations and in doing so also run the U.S. government and many other governments around the world." - John Perkins, 2005, author of the book titled 'Confessions of and Economic Hit Man'

In the struggle of Good against Evil, it's always the people who get killed. - Eduardo Galeano

"It's not enough to have lived. We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of personkind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely." - Leo Buscaglia, author and university professor (1924-1998)
